Owen played peek-a-boo with Jack during the drive there. Poor jack still faces backwards and I'm sure gets bored staring at the back seat.
We went to Cars Land first, of course, for Owen. He was thrilled to meet Mater and Lightning McQueen
Jack loved all the rides he could go one. We were in a swinging gondola on the ferris wheel in this picture. He would say "woooo" as we swung.
Waiting at the Toy Story ride. It was a favorite for all of us so we did it twice.
After doing the Cars Racer ride in cars land Owen asked "But why was it fake Daddy, it didn't have a steering wheel". So we knew that Autopia was a must and yes it was a hit. He loved loved loved it.
Owen wanted to meet Mickey so we met Mickey in his house in Toon Town. And the Go Go Gadget roller coaster right next to mickey's house turned out to be Owen's favorite ride.
Jack loved the times he could get out of the stroller and stand
THis was Owen's souvenir. Jack got two books. It was a very pleasant trip and I would totally go again even though we were exhausted after those days.
We got home on a sunday and the following Thursday me and the boys flew to AZ for me to go on a business trip to Switzerland with my Dad. He was so kind to let me come with him! And I loved every minute of the trip. We were there for a whole week and I got to plan all the activities. We landed in Geneva and drove to Milan Italy. Spent a day there and drove back for his meetings in Nyon Switzerland. Then we spent a day driving around Lake Geneva. And spent the last day in Annecy France. All beautiful areas!
Here are a few pics out of the 500 that I took:
A picture of Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe. We went back to see in on our drive back from Milan but the weather was really bad so I was glad we at least got these pictures.
The Duomo, the 2nd largest cathedral in Italy, 2nd to St Peters Basilica. It was very pretty inside and It amazes me the amount of intricate work done on the building and inside.
The best Italian food ever! Of course, it is Italy, but it was seriously amazing
This was the best picture I was sent from the SIL who was watching my boys.
The view from our room in Nyon Switzerland
At this restaurant they made us wear these funny bibs because the meat sizzles and they didn't want the juices to get on you. And they bring you this barely cooked meat on a sizzling hot stone and you cut the meat and let it cook as long and as well done as you'd like. It was interesting but very good.
Chateau Vufflens. One of the prettiest Chateaus we drove by
We went to Lausanne Switzerland to go to the Olympic Museum but my book from the library was obviously out of date because the museum has been closed for reconstruction for 1 year already. Oh well.
The Chateau D'Chillon. I read about this in my travel book so I really wanted to go. We did an audio tour of the place and learned much of its history.
The Basilica in Annecy France. Do you know what the difference between a church and a Basilica are? I did some research while out there and learned that a basilica is a church that was given special ceremonial rights by the pope. So Annecy had a basilica and a church. We went inside both.
Our las breakfast, and it was Happy to see me :)
We had a very full but very enjoyable August. We are looking forward to settling back down for a little while though. I am starting at home preschool for Owen and a neighbor friend. His mom and I will rotate teaching so it should be lots of fun. I'm also hoping to start him in some music classes soon. I don't think there is a minute of the day when he's not singing, or humming, or listening to music. So I figured I should start his learning. I'm working with Jack on walking right now. He doesn't really show much interest in in but he is 15 months. I'm also working on bulking the kid up. He was too much under weight at his last appt but since then I have learned of lots of non-dairy foods I can give him. So he's starting to get more and more adult food.
Well that's the shortest I could get the update. Enjoy!
