Hey all, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving break like we did. KC, Owen and I left Tuesday night and drove to Page, AZ and stayed the night there. We got up early Wednesday morning and got on the road and made it to Mesa by 1pm. It was such amazingly good weather there in AZ. I wish I could have brought it back with me for a few days. But it was still nice to be there with the whole family (Alyssa and Tyler got to AZ on Tuesday so they were there too). We had my grandparents come over for games and we played all night long. It was so much fun to see everyone.
Thursday morning we got up and ran the Turkey Trot. Well I ran with Dallin and my mom and KC walked with Owen and my dad, Lyss and Tyler, and Jeffrey. Kim and Kat ran it too. I love getting up and doing that. It gets my day started and I feel so great throughout the rest of the day. We went out to Schnepf Farms for Thanksgiving Dinner (sorta lunch) with all the Biggs's and Kerri and Ryan met us out there too. It was great and delicious food. Of course I only ate the potatoes and Jello (since I'm not much of a turkey or ham kinda of person) but I hear they were delicious too. Kimberly made ALL the rolls for the whole dinner and they turned out perfect.
Owen didn't want to sleep while we were out there for dinner. I brought his porta-crib and everything but it was a no go. He was teething (his 2 front teeth) and it was making him a little grouchy so my mom and I took Owen home early so he could get some sleep. He was out before we even made it to the road.
That night we went to the movie "The Blind Side". I didn't really know what it was about but we all really enjoyed it. I would very much suggest it if you're trying to decide on a movie to go see :)
Friday we decided to skip out on the "black Friday" shopping but we played morning tennis instead. That was probably my favorite part. Kc, Alyssa, my dad and I got up early any played. We changed up the teams each set so that we all played with everyone. That mad it fun to get some different dynamics. Alyssa and I played the best together against my Dad and KC. We at least won 2 games. HAHA I'll beat my dad some day. Like my grandpa Papito says, it may not be til my dad is 80 but I'll beat him some day.
Saturday was "Aunt Diane's Cookie Day". That is always an interesting day and it gets more and more interesting as everyone gets older. I love that all the cousins still come, from Makalya (16) to Jeffrey (the youngest at 9) we have lots of different ages there. Most everyone is nearing or in the teens though. Its so fun how much they've grown up. We made my most favorite "Rollo cookies" and some for "mutie's sugar cookies" along with others. There were 2 tables full of cookies to send home with everyone. This was my mom's 8th year doing it and I'm so impressed that she still enjoys doing it. Next year, though, we'll have to call it "Aunt Diane's cookie day" for the cousins and "Grandma's cookie day" for Owen. He'll be old enough to try and help, maybe he'll put the chocolate kiss in the peanut butter cookies :)
We all drove back on Sunday. Of course we ate at Jack in the Box in Page as our last opportunity before we get into Utah. And we made it back in time for Owen to go to bed at a normal hour. KC came back sick with no voice and a bad cough but he's better now. He had to stay home from work on Tuesday to recoup (he literally could not talk) but he's all better, Owen's teeth are coming in so he's mostly better, and I'm still good (knock on wood).
Well I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving like we did and now its time to get the Christmas decorations out and listen to Christmas music and get in the Christmas mood. We love you All!!
PS. Sorry there aren't any pictures. I only took video and I don't have a computer right now that will let me upload the videos. But I'll keep trying.
