So KC had to write stories in one of his classes and this restaurant that we like "Pastorero" was having a contest to see who could write the best story about the place so this is what KC wrote, he wanted me to post it and see what you all think:
Pastorero
Pastorero has taken a unique approach to serving authentic Mexican food. The restaurant recently opened in Provo and it has completely diversified itself from the ever so popular Café Rio. In order to experience the real taste of Mexico, one typically has to sacrifice cleanliness for quality. At times you may be uncertain of what special ingredient was used to enhance the flavor of the refried beans or enchiladas. At Pastorero the secret ingredient is pure genius splashed with a noticeable touch of authenticity. You can consume your favorite Mexican dish confidently without being concerned that the specialty meat did not pass USDA inspection.
Since my first visit to the restaurant I have encouraged about 20 friends to give it a try. My meal of choice is Tacos al Pastor. The tacos are prepared carefully using marinated pork, which has been cooked on a vertical rotisserie, cilantro, and cooked pineapple. Every bite captures the authenticity of Mexico. As you sink your teeth into this exceptional taco, one cannot help but hear the distant ringing of cathedral bells, the fluttering of dove's wings as they escape the tall bell towers throughout the town, and the steady beats of a mariachi band on a corner of a cobblestone street. Also, in Pastorero, one can find a good meal without the authentic Mexican struggle with stray dogs trying to steal a bite when you’re not looking. One doesn't just eat Pastorero, one feels it. Tacos Al Pastor includes five tacos, not all that big, but enough to satisfy your needs. I suggest complementing your meal with chips and salsa just to top off. A salsa bar allows you to choose from four different variations, ranging from a lime/avocado salsa to a smooth roasted chipotle flavor. If the environment gives you the right vibe, I endorse selecting a bottled beverage imported from south of the border.
All in all, Pastorero exceeds expectations when it comes to seeking a true taste of Mexico. With the chefs being formally trained by taco street vendors flown in from Mexico City, a guarantee of deliciousness can be made, and delivered, without hesitation.
